Step-by-step itinerary
Private inshore fishing charter
- Meet at boat near downtown Clearwater
- Fish in Clearwater Bay and nearby waters
- Fish around Caladesi Island if going north
- Pass Sand Key Park and fish outside if going south
- Return to original dock for departure
The experience
Clearwater's inshore waters hold something most beach towns don't: multiple distinct habitats within a short run from the dock. The boat launches 3 minutes from downtown, and depending on winds and season, the captain will head north toward Caladesi Island State Park or south past Sand Key Park to fish the outside waters. Flats, protected backwaters, and island shorelines each hold different species and respond to different conditions, so the captain adjusts the route as the day unfolds rather than following a fixed itinerary.
You'll fish the entire duration of your charter (either a 4-hour or 6-hour window) with a professional guide who knows where the fish are moving with the tide. All tackle, rods, reels and safety gear come with the boat. Fishing licenses are included so there's nothing to arrange beforehand. Bottled water is on board, and the marina has bathroom facilities if you need them during the trip.
Morning departures leave at 7am (choose 4 or 6 hours). Afternoon charters cast off at 2pm for a 4-hour window. The boat returns to the same dock where you started, and the captain will brief you on what's running and what to expect before you head out.
