The experience
Three reserve wines in an hour means you're tasting what most visitors never get to try. Crescendo blends Cabernet Franc and Merlot with a touch of Sangiovese, bringing deep purple color and flavors of ripe black cherries and coffee. Romanza layers Corvina, Rondinella and Cabernet Sauvignon into a complex wine with notes of cherries, herbs and chocolate. Adagio is 100 percent Sangiovese, full-bodied like a Brunello, with black berries, fig and a hint of dried rose petal.
The guide walks you through each pour and explains what makes these wines distinctive. Rondinella alone sets Al Lago apart. It's one of just four varietals used in Amarone production worldwide, and this is the only vineyard in the USA cultivating it. That exclusivity shapes the whole flight: you're tasting wines built on grapes most American wineries can't source.
The tasting happens in a setting built around these wines, with a guide who knows the vineyard's partnership with winemaker Guillaume Fabre and the care that goes into each vintage. If you want to add lunch or dinner, let the vineyard know when you book and they'll arrange it for you.
