The Experience

The tour leaves from the parking lot and heads straight to ChiChi restaurant for an appetizer and mimosa. From there you pass through the hotel landmarks built in the 1950s, then stop to photograph the PS love you sign, the naked lady statue, the abandoned baby statue, and the Forever Marilyn statue. The cart does the legwork while you frame the shots.

Old Las Palmas is the neighborhood where the route spends real time. You'll pass the Liberace House, Clark Gable and Carole Lombard's home, Sammy Davis Jr.'s place, Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn's, Leonardo DiCaprio's, Kirk Douglas's, Ronald Reagan's, and the Alexander homes designed by a modernist architect. The guide talks about Don the Beachcomer and the underground tunnels while you roll past. Uptown comes next—a 15-minute section where the guide points out shopping and dining spots worth a return visit.

The second drink stop is La Quinta Brewing Co Tap Room downtown, where you get beer samples.
