Paddling upriver takes you to Indian Creek first, about 20 minutes in. The creek is only 3 feet deep and narrow, with glass-clear water and bubbling springs visible from the kayak. You stop here to float and soak in the spring garden feel before continuing. Another 40 minutes upriver opens onto the Rainbow River itself, where the water turns vibrant aqua-blue, the lagoon widens, and you're more likely to spot turtles, otters, fish and birds. There's no fixed schedule once you're out there—you explore at your own pace.
