“Okay, who wants to be point?” That’s how our instructor kicked things off at Decision Tactical in Orlando, and honestly, my heart was already thumping. You walk in expecting laser tag or some kind of VR thing, but this is different—real sets that look like a street corner or a diner at midnight, and the gear has this weirdly satisfying weight to it. Our group was all ages—my nephew kept grinning at me like he knew I’d mess up first.

The Bill Drill itself is wild. We started in what looked like someone’s living room (the “home invasion” scenario), and I swear I could smell old carpet and popcorn from the last group. Our guide, Marcus, was ex-military but super chill—he cracked jokes about our “tactical” sneakers but then got serious when explaining how each choice would change what happened next. There’s this moment where you’re crouched behind a fake couch, trying not to laugh because your cousin just whispered something dumb, but you’re also actually thinking about cover and angles.
