The Experience

The yacht leaves Ko Olina with six people maximum, which means no crowding and room to move between the deck and the cabin as the light changes. Pickup happens at the marina; you'll want to arrive 10 minutes early. The bar runs the whole time—Hawaiian bottled water, soft drinks, beer, and sparkling wines (Prosecco and Brut) are included, so you're not ordering or tracking rounds. While you're settling in and the boat moves out, the crew starts on the Captain's Tasting Menu in the galley, timing it so the food comes out as the sun reaches the horizon.

The route follows West Oahu's coastline, and the timing of the cruise—either winter or summer departure—shifts what the light does and how long it lingers. You choose which season when you book. The guide is there throughout, speaking English, and knows the water and the island's geography. Casual evening attire is all that's expected; this is not formal, and the boat moves gently enough that you won't need to brace yourself.
