Audubon Zoo is a self-guided ticket to 50+ acres in New Orleans featuring over 1,700 animals representing more than 350 species in award-winning natural habitats. You arrive when you want, stay as long as you wish, and move between exhibits at your own pace. Daily animal care demonstrations run throughout the zoo. Children are welcome from age 2. The experience

More than 1,700 animals live across the zoo's 50+ acres, from endangered whooping cranes and Amur leopards to Sumatran orangutans with babies born on-site. The Louisiana Swamp is the world's only urban swamp exhibit, where you'll see black bears, bobcats, foxes and a white alligator alongside the animals native to South Louisiana. Jaguar Jungle transports you to Central America with spider monkeys, ocelots, a jaguar and a bat house called Criaturas de la Noche. The African lion habitat offers close views of four lions, and Monkey Hill features a 5-level treehouse where you can watch primates move through the canopy.

The zoo is entirely self-guided, so you choose which exhibits to visit and how long to spend at each one. Daily animal care demonstrations happen throughout the day, where you can learn facts about the animals and their habitats without signing up in advance. Watoto Farm lets you interact with domestic species like sheep and goats while learning about sustainable agriculture. The ticket covers everything inside the gates. You're free to wander the 50+ acres on your own schedule, whether you spend three hours hitting the main exhibits or four hours exploring every corner.

The zoo is wheelchair accessible, and strollers work well for moving between exhibits across the grounds. Public transportation options are nearby, and the facilities themselves are wheelchair accessible. Service animals are allowed throughout the zoo.
