itinerary

Step-by-step itinerary

Day 1 — Private luxury yacht cruise in Miami

  • Depart from Biscayne Bay
  • Sail past Downtown and Brickell skyline
  • View Port of Miami
  • Pass Millionaire’s Row mansions
  • See Palm and Hibiscus Islands
  • Arrive at Fisher Island
  • Admire skyline and South Beach
  • Cruise to spot celebrity homes
  • Drop anchor to swim and relax

The first thing I noticed was the pink yacht — not subtle, but somehow perfect against the blue of Biscayne Bay. We met our captain at the marina (there’s a fee for that, just so you know), and he greeted us like we were old friends. There was music already playing when we stepped aboard. The city skyline looked almost fake from the water — all glass and angles, way quieter than I expected except for the distant thump of someone else’s party boat drifting by.

I’d never seen houses like those on Millionaire’s Row. Our guide pointed out which ones belonged to celebrities (I forgot most of the names instantly — sorry, captain). The breeze picked up as we passed Palm Island and Hibiscus Island, and someone in our group tried to spot dolphins but only saw a couple of jet skis carving up the water ahead. Speaking of which: they had two reserved for us. I’m not really a jet ski person but honestly? It was funner than I thought — salt spray everywhere, my friend yelling something about “Miami Vice” over the engine noise.

We dropped anchor near Fisher Island where the water went this weirdly clear turquoise. Some of us jumped in (the floating mat is actually pretty comfortable), others just stretched out with cold bottled water from the cooler. There was this moment where everything felt still except for seagulls and laughter echoing off some mega-yacht nearby. The captain told us stories about how strict they are with timing — apparently if you’re late, you lose time on your Miami yacht cruise and there’s no refund for the jet skis. Made sense after seeing how busy the marina got later.

Back towards sunset, I caught myself staring at South Beach in that orange light thinking how different Miami looks from out here — softer somehow. Not sure if it was the salt air or just being away from traffic for once, but yeah… I still think about that view sometimes.
