The experience

The rental shop is not where your ski day starts. Instead, you place your order before you arrive in Mammoth Lakes, and the gear shows up at your lodging at whatever time works for you: early if you want first tracks, late if you're sleeping in. A technician does the fitting right there in your room, adjusting boots and bindings so everything is dialed in before you leave. No standing in line, no waiting for a size to come back from the storeroom, no second trip to swap something that doesn't fit.

The equipment is top-of-the-line rental stock, and the service covers 36 resorts across the region, though delivery itself is limited to the Mammoth Mountain and June Mountain area. If something goes wrong on the mountain (a binding adjustment, a blister-causing boot issue, a sudden need for different skis), you call and a technician meets you slope-side to fix it. When your 5 days are up, you call again and the concierge swings by to collect everything. Helmets are available separately if you want to add them to the rental.

One thing to lock in: you must re-confirm your reservation at least 48 hours before your rental date, or the gear is not guaranteed. The service operates on your schedule, but it needs that confirmation window to make sure your order is ready.

Delivery runs from 7:30am to 9pm, so yes. You pick the time that works for your first day. If you want to ski at opening, an early delivery gets your gear fitted and ready before you leave your lodging.

What happens if my boots don't fit right after the technician leaves?

Slope-side assistance is available. Just call and a technician will meet you on the mountain to adjust or swap your gear. The service is built around getting you back on the slopes fast if anything needs tweaking.

Does the rental price include helmets?

Helmets are available separately for rent, so you can add them to your order if you want one. The base rental covers skis, poles and boots.

How do I return the gear at the end of my 5 days?

Call when you're ready to turn everything in, and the concierge will arrange a pickup time that works for you. Return is just as convenient as delivery. They come to your lodging and collect everything.
