The Experience

Ever wondered what it feels like to be lost in the woods just as the sun’s dropping fast? That’s how our Cabin Escape Room started in Las Vegas — not with a bang, but with that slow, creeping feeling when you realize you’re off trail. Our guide (I think his name was Marcus?) didn’t do the usual “here are the rules” speech. Instead, he just smiled and handed us our first clue, like he knew we’d already started playing without realizing it. The air inside the room was thick — a little musty, like old pine boards and something metallic I couldn’t quite place. Someone in our group joked about horror movies, which made us all laugh louder than we needed to.

I didn’t expect how much I’d second-guess myself — or how quickly we’d start working together once the puzzles got weird. There was this moment when we found a coded message under a lantern (it actually flickered — nice touch) and for a second I thought we’d hit a wall.
