Step-by-step itinerary
Electric mountain biking in Las Llamas Canyon
- Join electric mountain bike tour
- Ride smooth fire road trail
- Explore sandstone boulders and oak savannahs
- Optionally switch to single track trail
- Enjoy 360 degree mountain views
The experience
Las Llamas Canyon's fire road winds through unusual geology: sandstone formations and oak savannahs open up to 360-degree views of the surrounding mountain ranges. The smooth, flowy terrain means you spend your energy choosing where to ride, not fighting the climb. The electric motor handles the elevation gain, so you can focus on the trail itself and the landscape around you.
You'll ride one of three premium models: a Specialized Kenevo Expert, Husqvarna Extreme Cross-10, or Haibike, all equipped with full protective gear (7IDP knee and elbow protection, gloves, eyewear). A certified guide leads the group in English or Spanish, and the trail system is built so participants can stay together or split: riders comfortable on technical terrain can peel off onto the optional single track while others continue on the main fire road. Bottled water is provided throughout the ride.
The 2-hour loop is designed so no one gets dropped. Children from age 12 are welcome, and the operator notes that riders of all levels can join. The e-bike's assist means the day is about where you want to go, not whether you can make the climb.
