The experience
You leave Palm Springs at 9am in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle and spend the day moving through LA's most recognizable neighborhoods. The route takes in Griffith Observatory (a 67,000-square-foot public observatory and planetarium that draws 1.6 million visitors a year), then moves to the Hollywood Walk of Fame for a walk among the stars embedded in the pavement. From there the tour reaches Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills for window-shopping at the world's most prominent storefronts, and The Grove, an outdoor shopping mall in West Hollywood with a food court if you want to grab lunch on your own.
The afternoon shifts toward the coast. You'll reach Santa Monica Pier, the western terminus of Route 66, where you can watch the energy of the boardwalk and amusement rides, then finish at Venice Beach to explore the shops and boardwalk along the Pacific. The guide adjusts the pace and time spent at each stop based on what interests you. If you want to linger at the Santa Monica Pier or spend extra time photographing the Hollywood Sign, the itinerary moves with you. You return to Palm Springs around 9pm depending on traffic.
The tour runs as a private booking, so you're not sharing the vehicle or the guide's attention with strangers. Your group size determines the vehicle: groups of one to four, five to seven, or eight to ten people each have their own option. Pickup from your Palm Springs hotel is included. You'll need to arrange and pay for any meals during the day.
