Jetboard on lakes near Denver with a 60-minute electric surfboard session that starts with water safety briefing and beginner instruction, then progresses to expert mode if you're ready. You'll ride on your choice of Cherry Creek or Chatfield Reservoir with an instructor on site, life jacket and all equipment supplied. Sessions are open to ages 16 and up.

The experience

What makes this different from a regular water sport is the board itself: a state-of-the-art electric surfboard with a wireless remote that controls your speed. You start in beginner mode, learning to stand and find your balance with an instructor coaching you through it. The remote floats, so there's no fumbling if you drop it. After the initial 20-minute water safety briefing, you'll spend the session building confidence on the water, staying in eyesight of your instructor at all times. Once you're solid on your feet, you can unlock expert mode and feel what the board can really do, up to 24mph.

The session runs 60 minutes total and happens at your chosen lake: Cherry Creek Reservoir or Chatfield Reservoir, both within reach of Denver. You pick which one suits your day. Everything you need is provided: life jacket (required at all times), the jetboard itself, the remote, a waterproof phone case holder, and bottled water. Your instructor is there to push you forward or dial it back depending on how you're progressing. The goal is to move from beginner to expert mode by the end, but the pace is yours.

Can I try the fast speed if I've never been on a jetboard before?

Yes. The session starts in beginner mode so you can learn to stand and balance safely, then your instructor will offer the option to unlock expert mode once you're ready. That's when the board reaches its full 24mph potential. Not everyone moves to expert mode in one session, and that's fine. It depends on how quickly you progress.

Which lake should I choose, Cherry Creek or Chatfield?

Both are jetboard-friendly options near Denver. Cherry Creek Reservoir is closer to the city. Chatfield Reservoir is a bit further out. Pick whichever fits better with the rest of your day. The experience and instruction are the same at either location.

What do I need to bring or know before I book?

You must be able to swim and at least 16 years old. The board has a 250-pound weight limit. Wear clothes you don't mind getting wet and bring a towel. Sunscreen is not provided but worth applying beforehand. You'll need to be sober and in good cardiovascular health to participate safely.

Is there an instructor in the water with me the whole time?

An instructor will be on site providing assistance and coaching throughout your session. All riders stay in eyesight of the instructor, especially while in beginner mode, so you're never alone on the water.
