Horseback ride and lunch at ranch

  • Ride through ranch hillsides
  • Enjoy views of Grand Canyon West
  • Have lunch at Last Chance Restaurant

The experience

You're in the area for the day and want to do something beyond the usual viewpoint stops. This ride puts you on horseback through the ranch property just two miles from the Sky Walk, moving through terrain that opens onto views of Grand Canyon West. The group stays small, and a professional wrangler leads the way. No prior riding experience is needed, and the wranglers work with all fitness levels. Helmets are required and provided.

The ride itself runs about an hour through the rolling hills and flat lands that make up the ranch. After you're done, lunch happens at the Last Chance Restaurant and Saloon on the property: vegetarian and gluten-free options are available if you need them. The whole experience is built around the ride itself, not a tour stop that happens to include horses. You're in the saddle doing the work, not watching from a vehicle.

Departure times shift with weather and availability, so calling ahead confirms your slot, especially if you're bringing a larger group or need a time outside the standard schedule. Children as young as 7 can ride, and there's no weight restriction: the operator asks only that riders be reasonably proportioned and able to keep their balance. If your hair won't fit inside the helmet, or if you cannot remove religious headwear, you won't be able to participate.

What’s included

  • Helmet (required, provided).
