A 45-minute guided horseback trail ride through 117 acres of Hudson Valley meadows, woods and pasture, about an hour north of New York City. You're assigned a horse, fitted with a helmet, and led by a wrangler who stays with you the entire ride. No prior riding experience is required. The staff teaches you how to mount and handle your horse before you leave the barn. Ages 7 and up are welcome, and families often book this for celebrations and special events.

The experience

You start in the barn, where the staff fits you with a helmet and introduces you to your horse. A wrangler gives you instructions on mounting and basic handling, then leads you out through the fields and into the shaded woods. The ride covers 117 acres of the property: sunny meadows where you might spot local wildlife, tree-lined trails, and a pond. The wrangler stays with you the whole time, setting the pace and keeping the group safe.

The ride lasts 45 minutes in the saddle. Horses here are gentle and chosen to match riders of different sizes and experience levels, so beginners feel secure. Children as young as 7 can ride their own horse. Younger children (ages 2 and up) can do pony rides instead. The property also has a free petting zoo if you want to spend more time with the animals before or after your ride.
