The experience
Ground School starts you off with hands-on training from a professional guide who walks you through your helmet, harness and lanyards, then you're clipped in and ready to move. The course itself is a series of elevated platforms, cables, ropes and obstacles built into poles across a four-story structure. You pick your own route through the 60 challenges (some require balance, some a swing between platforms, some a leap), and you set the pace. Climb high or stay low. Push hard or take your time. The choice is entirely yours.
The course sits in the Minnesota River Valley, and there's no time limit on the day of your ticket. Most people spend around two hours working through the obstacles, but you move at whatever speed feels right. The highest elements reach 45 feet, though you don't have to go that high. Closed-toe shoes are required (Crocs don't count), and you'll need at least a moderate level of physical fitness to handle the climbing and balance work.
