The experience

The tour runs on your schedule, not a fixed itinerary. You decide whether to start at Coppola Winery (Francis Ford Coppola's property with an on-site Italian restaurant), or pivot to Jordan Winery if Coppola is closed (Tuesdays and Wednesdays). From there, the driver takes you to whichever wineries appeal to you: Rodney Strong Vineyards for Cabernet and outdoor terrace views, or J Vineyards & Winery for sparkling wines and seasonal food pairings. You stay as long as you like at any stop, which means you might hit two wineries in depth or four in a lighter tasting run. The driver knows the region and can suggest stops if you arrive without a plan.

The SUV seats up to four passengers and includes hotel or Airbnb pickup, air conditioning, bottled water, and WiFi on board. Wine tasting fees vary by location and are not included in the tour price. Most wineries waive tasting fees if you buy a bottle or case. Lunch at the Rustic Restaurant inside Coppola is optional and moderately priced. You'll want to print the page before you go so you have winery locations for making reservations: most require them, especially on weekends.

Two add-on options are available at checkout: extend the tour by two hours if you want to fit in more wineries, or add a Winery Concierge Service to have reservations arranged for you in advance.

Can I pick which wineries to visit, or does the tour follow a set route?

You choose. The driver will suggest wineries if you need ideas, but the itinerary is entirely up to you. Stay an hour at one winery or visit four in quick succession, depending on what you want to taste and how much time you want to spend.

What's included in the price, and what do I pay separately?

The tour price covers the SUV, driver, hotel pickup, water, and WiFi. Wine tasting fees are separate and vary by winery. Most waive the fee if you buy a bottle or case. Lunch at the Rustic Restaurant inside Coppola is optional and costs extra.

Do I need to make reservations at the wineries ahead of time?

Most wineries require reservations, especially on weekends. You can make them yourself using the winery locations on the printed page, or add the Winery Concierge Service at checkout to have reservations arranged for you.

What happens if Coppola Winery is closed when I want to visit?

Coppola closes Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On those days, the driver will take you to Jordan Winery instead, which is also excellent and requires reservations at all times.

Can I add time to the tour if I want to visit more wineries?

Yes. You can extend the tour by two hours at checkout, giving you eight hours total to explore more of the region.
