The experience
The boat itself is the difference here. A 31-foot custom-built fishing cat with twin 200 hp engines rides smoother than most nearshore vessels, which matters when you're standing and casting for four hours. Capt. Mike positions you within 3 miles of shore, moving between spots in a few minutes to twenty minutes depending on where the fish are running. You'll fish for snook, redfish, tarpon and other species the Gulf and backwaters hold year-round, and dolphins show up any time of year near Fort Myers Beach: manatees too in the summer months.
Everything you need to fish is on board: rods, reels, tackle, bait and a cooler with ice for your catch. Capt. Mike baits your hook, coaches your cast and cleans any fish you keep that meets the legal size. The boat has partial shade to break the sun, a small bathroom and room for your own cooler if you want to bring one. Drinking water is provided. Bring whatever food and drinks you prefer.
The charter runs four hours and takes a maximum of six passengers, so you're not crowded. Wheelchair accessibility is built in, and the stable platform works for anglers who have never held a rod as well as those who fish regularly. You'll need a valid fishing license, but that's included in the booking.
