This is a one-hour embossed alcohol ink tile workshop in Estes Park where you choose between a subway or square tile, then work with an instructor to create a finished wall hanging using alcohol inks, embossing powders and a range of colors. Children from age 5 are welcome, and all materials, tools and instruction are included. You leave with a completed piece ready to hang.

The experience

You arrive with a free afternoon and walk into a studio where the instructor shows you two tile styles (subway or square), and you pick the one that appeals to you. From there, the work is hands-on: you'll apply alcohol inks directly to your tile, watching the colors bloom and blend in ways you can't predict, then layer embossing powders to add texture and dimension. The instructor guides you through each step, showing you how the inks behave and how to build the scene you're after. You choose from a wide range of colors to match your style and home décor, so no two tiles come out the same.

The whole session runs about an hour, which is enough time to move through the inking and embossing without rushing. All the materials are provided (the tiles, inks, powders, brushes and tools), so you don't need to bring anything except your ideas. By the time you're done, your wall hanging is finished and ready to take home and hang on your wall.
