The experience

The bikes are 750-watt electric with five levels of pedal assist, so you control how much power you want on each stretch. Your guide is born and raised in Encinitas and knows the area well enough to point out the best stops and the routes that connect them. The tour runs two hours total, moving between six distinct locations without long stretches of riding between them.

You start with a quick hike around Seaside Reef overlooking the bluff, then cruise the Solana Beach rail trail. The Cardiff Kook is a photo stop. From there you spend about twenty minutes exploring Palm Tree Alley. The bulk of the tour happens in downtown Encinitas, where you'll see the famous boat houses, the downtown core and finish at Moonlight Beach. The ride back to the meeting point follows the same scenic route south through Solana Beach.
