The experience

Three hours on a 2023 Specialized Kenevo Expert electric mountain bike gets you to the Hidden Grotto and Waterfall on a trail that mixes paved sections, fire roads and hiking. The eMTB does the climbing work, so riders of all levels can keep pace without experience. On the way you pass through canyons with ocean views. Once you reach the grotto, you swim in the waterfall pool and have time to photograph the canyon walls. The return follows the same route back.

The guide meets you, fits you to your bike, and leads the group at a pace that keeps everyone together. You'll cross terrain that shows a different side of Malibu than the coastal highway: inland canyons, ridgelines, and the kind of access a car cannot reach. The electric assist means the physical demand stays moderate even on climbs, though you should be comfortable on a bike and ready for three hours of steady movement.
