The Experience
You walk in with a blank canvas and leave with a finished painting you made yourself. That's the whole point of Puff, Pass & Paint, the Denver painting class that's been running since 2014 and somehow still feels like the original even though half the studios in the country have copied the format. The 2-hour sessions run every evening, and they're set up so you don't need any experience — the resident artists walk you through it step by step, from the first brushstroke to the final detail. You bring your own wine or beer if you want, they provide the snacks, water, and all the painting supplies, so you show up with nothing but yourself.
The room is deliberately low-pressure. It's LGBTQ+ friendly, green-conscious, and built around the idea that you're here to have fun, not to prove you're talented. Groups stay small enough that the instructors actually see what you're doing, and the whole vibe is more "let's make something together" than "here's the masterpiece you should replicate." People bring friends, partners, coworkers — it works because nobody's pretending this is fine art. It's paint, it's social, it's a night out that ends with something tangible to take home.
Classes are offered throughout the evening, so you can book an early slot or a late one depending on your schedule. The space is fully wheelchair accessible, and if you need service animals, they're welcome. You do need to be 21 to attend, which is part of the whole setup — the wine or beer is yours to bring, but it's built into the experience. Just show up, pick a canvas, and paint for two hours while you're in a room full of people doing the exact same thing.
