Step-by-step itinerary
Private deep sea fishing trip
- Meet captain at Boca Raton dock
- Depart Boca Raton inlet to Atlantic Ocean
- Pass Boca Raton resort on left
- Pass Lake Boca Raton sand bar
- Fish in offshore waters
The experience
Boca Raton's inlet puts you on the Atlantic in minutes instead of hours spent crossing protected waterways. The boat ramp is minutes from the local area, and once you meet your captain at the docking area, you head straight out. As you exit the Intracoastal waterway through Boca Raton inlet, you pass Lake Boca Raton on the left (one of South Florida's most popular sandbars), and leave the world-famous Boca Raton resort behind. The captain navigates to the fishing grounds based on what's biting and the season: sailfish, mahi-mahi, kingfish, wahoo, swordfish, sharks, and snapper are all possibilities depending on when you go.
The 52-foot Merritt is built for fishing. Its extended cockpit gives you more space than a standard boat, and four fighting chairs mean everyone in your party can be actively fishing at once. All rods, reels, tackle and safety equipment come with the charter, as do your fishing licenses. You get bottled water, sun protection with a T-top or shaded cover, and access to the marina's bathroom facilities. Your captain, speaking English, reads the conditions and decides where to position the boat and what techniques will work best that day.
A 4-hour afternoon charter departs at 2pm. The two morning options leave at 7am and run either 4 or 6 hours. The boat accommodates up to six people per booking, and the whole party fishes from the same vessel. Gratuities for your captain are optional but customary. Bring your own food and drinks if you want them on board. The captain can confirm whether the onboard restroom is available for your departure.

Is this one for you?Book the 6-hour morning charter if you want the longest fishing window and the best chance at multiple species. The 4-hour departures work if you want to fish before or after other activities in your day. The boat's four fighting chairs mean your whole party fishes at once, so a group of friends or family who all want to be actively angling will stay engaged the entire time.
