The Experience

“You know, they actually had to repaint the Wheeler house three times,” our guide said, shaking his head like he still couldn’t believe it. It was quieter than I expected, almost echoey, with that schoolyard smell of old concrete and sun-warmed metal. I tried to picture Mike and Lucas arguing about D&D somewhere behind those doors.

We got to see Screen Gems Studios from the outside — not glamorous, but cool in a “that’s where it really happens” way. The Brimborn Steelworks stop was honestly creepier than I thought it would be; maybe it was just the cloudy sky or how empty it felt. At Hawkins Pool, I could practically hear Billy’s whistle (and yes, someone did try to re-enact his slow walk). There’s bottled water in the van, which is good because Atlanta gets sticky fast in summer.
