You spend the workshop learning spray paint, stencil, and graffiti techniques from local street artists in an Atlanta studio. Materials, instruction, and a canvas you create are all included; bring your own drinks. You leave with a piece of art you actually made, not a pre-painted takeaway.

The Experience
Most paint nights hand you a brush and a pre-sketched outline. This one hands you a spray can. Studio W.I.P. in Atlanta flips the usual workshop format by treating you like an actual street artist instead of a tourist dabbling in paint, which means you're learning aerosol technique, stencil design, and graffiti styles from people who actually work in those mediums. The studio space is set up like a gallery — you move around testing different techniques on different surfaces, not sitting at a table watching a demo. It's messier, more hands-on, and honestly a bit more intimidating at first.
The workshop starts with a real look at street art history and styles, taught by guest artists who know the world beyond a canvas. Then you get into it — learning how to handle a spray can (grip, distance, pressure), how to layer stencils, what makes a tag readable. If you've never held a spray can before, the artists walk you through it. If you're already comfortable with the medium, there's room to experiment. The whole thing is BYOB, so you bring whatever you want to drink, and the vibe stays relaxed and social without feeling forced. You're not performing for an instructor; you're learning a skill in a studio that happens to have other people in it.
At the end, you don't leave empty-handed. There's a communal wall of mini-canvases you've created throughout the session, and you pick one to take home — the piece you actually made, not something the studio pre-made for you. It's a small detail, but it's the difference between a souvenir and proof you did something.
What’s included
Your workshop includes all spray paint materials and supplies, instruction from local street artists, access to the gallery studio space to practice different techniques, and a mini-canvas you create during the session to take home. BYOB beverages are welcome.

Is this one for you?Book this if you want a hands-on art experience that treats you like an actual artist, not a tourist following a paint-by-numbers template — the spray paint medium and the real instruction are what make that possible.
