Step-by-step itinerary
Photo walk through Atlanta landmarks
- Photograph Folk Art Park sculptures
- Take photos at Peachtree Center
- Capture shots at Centennial Olympic Park
- Photograph Skyview Atlanta Ferris wheel
The experience
You move through downtown Atlanta on foot with a pro photographer who shows you how to frame shots, work with light and find compelling subjects in the city's mix of street art, architecture and public spaces. The walk covers four distinct zones: Folk Art Park (also called the Outsider Art Museum), where self-taught artists' sculptures and murals give you plenty to shoot; Peachtree Center and the surrounding blocks, where you'll photograph Ivy Hardy Park, Truist Plaza and Margaret Mitchell Square; Centennial Olympic Park, built for the 1996 Olympics, with its contemporary architecture and the iconic Olympic rings fountain; and Skyview Atlanta, where you'll shoot the Ferris wheel from ground level and can ride it for an additional $22 to photograph the city skyline from above. The whole route takes 2–3 hours.
A live English-speaking guide walks with you the entire time, offering real-time feedback on composition, camera settings and how to spot the next good shot. You bring your own camera (phone, DSLR, mirrorless, whatever you have), and the guide works with your gear and skill level. If you want to rent an entry-level DSLR and memory card, that's available for an extra $30 at booking, and files upload to you after the tour. Water is provided. The pace is steady but manageable for anyone 12 and up.

What exactly is Folk Art Park and why is it good for photography?
Folk Art Park, also known as the Outsider Art Museum, is a downtown Atlanta collection of folk art sculptures and murals made by self-taught artists.
