The experience
This is rafting built around watching, not paddling. A professional guide rows the boat down a section of the Arkansas River chosen for families: bouncy wave trains and a man-made white water park, but nothing that demands you grip a paddle or fight the current. You arrive at the office, change into river clothes, get a safety talk, then ride about 20 minutes to the put-in. Once on the water, the guide handles the oars while you float, swim if you want, and take photos of the rapids and the canyon walls. Most groups choose not to paddle at all, which means four hours of river time without the work.
The trip includes all rafting and safety equipment (wetsuit, splash jacket and river shoes are available to rent if you need them) plus professional photos taken during the float that you can view back at the office. Round-trip transportation from the office to the river and back is built in. A minimum of four people per booking is required, and children can join from age 4 onward. The whole outing, from check-in to returning to the office, takes about 4 hours.

If you have young children or prefer to relax on the water rather than paddle, this guide-rowed format means you can float and watch while someone else handles the boat.
