The experience

What makes this different from a standard ropes course is the sheer scale and the route structure. You're working through more than 120 interconnected elements (swinging bridges, cargo nets, balance beams, tunnels and more) arranged into nine separate routes that you can tackle in any order you choose. Each route is graded like a ski run, so you start on easier terrain and graduate to harder challenges as your confidence builds. The whole complex sits tucked into Lost Canyon, surrounded by rugged limestone cliffs that frame the whole experience.

You're secured throughout to the Bornack Smart Safe Belay system, which keeps you attached to the life safety lines during transfers between elements but gives you the freedom to choose your own path and move at your own pace. Staff are positioned nearby to offer encouragement and help if you need it, but the point is that you're in control. The course was designed and built by Swiss Alpine engineers to industry standards, including those of the Association for Challenge Course Technology and Colorado state safety specs.

Arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled start time for gear fitting, a safety briefing and instructions on how the belay system works. From there, you move through the routes at your own speed: some people power through, others take their time testing each element. The whole outing runs about three hours.
