The experience

The day starts with a cruise through Key West's backcountry mangrove channels: the quiet side of the island, away from downtown noise. You'll wade into clear shallow water and paddle out to the sandbar on a board, or float on a lily pad mat with water toys (footballs, frisbees, personal floats) scattered around. The sandbar itself is the whole point: a low-key stretch of tropical water where the afternoon moves at its own pace.

Food and drinks anchor the day. You pick your sandwich lunch ahead of time from a menu at a local deli that's been feeding the boating crowd here for almost 30 years. It arrives with cookies, chips and fruit. The open bar runs the whole four hours: beer, wine, hard seltzers, champagne and non-alcoholic options (water and soda). Alcoholic drinks go to guests 21 and up. The boat itself and all the gear (boards, floats, toys) are included, so you show up and get straight on the water.
