Key West Sunset Cruise: BYOB Tiki Bar Boat for Up to 6
Bring your drinks and watch the Green Flash from a tiki bar on the water
A 2-hour sunset cruise on a custom tiki bar boat in Key West harbor for up to 6 guests, where you bring your own alcohol and snacks while a USCG-certified captain points out landmarks, wildlife and the famous sunset. The boat departs 75 minutes before sunset and includes ice, cups, a blender, a walk-in bathroom and a live edge tiki bar under a thatch roof.
Step-by-step itinerary
Sunset cruise and sightseeing
- Board custom Tiki Bar Boat
- Cruise past Sigsbee Key and islands
- Cruise by Sunset Pier
- Sail past Mallory Square Sunset Celebration
- Watch for the Green Flash at sunset
- Enjoy cocktails and snacks cruising Fleming Key
- View historic Shrimp Fleet and Turtle Plant
The Experience
The boat leaves Garrison Bight an hour and fifteen minutes before sunset, which is when the party actually begins. You bring the drinks and snacks; the boat provides a USCG-certified captain, ice, cups, a blender, bottled water and the tiki bar itself — a custom-built setup with a thatch roof for shade, bluetooth stereo, padded bar stools and a walk-in bathroom. The captain navigates past Sigsbee Key, Trumbo Point and Wisteria Island on the way to the perfect vantage point, pointing out wildlife and the harbor's geography as you go.
The route takes you past Sunset Key and then to Mallory Square, where you'll see the Key West Sunset Celebration — the crowds, the street performers, the whole scene — from the water. Your captain positions the boat to catch the elusive Green Flash, that rare optical effect that happens as the sun hits the horizon, and you get the best angle for photographs. On the return, you cruise past Fleming Key and back toward the historic waterfront: the old Shrimp Fleet docks, the Turtle Plant and the Ferry Terminal at Garrison Bight.
The whole experience runs two hours. Life vests are provided, and the boat handles up to 6 people comfortably. A minimum of 2 paid participants is required to depart.
