Step-by-step itinerary
Guided ride to Hampshire wineries
- Ride Side by Side vehicles
- Visit Amber Falls Winery for tasting
- Visit Keg Springs Winery if open
The experience
You drive a side-by-side vehicle (not a passenger seat, but the controls) through back country dirt roads to reach the wineries. The ride itself is the point: middle Tennessee terrain, open air, the vehicle handling the terrain while you steer it. Each SXS holds up to four people, and one person in your group needs to be the driver. Everyone else rides along. Helmets and goggles come with the vehicle, and bottled water is there when you need it.
Amber Falls Winery is the main stop, where you taste from their selection. If the schedule and Keg Springs' hours line up, it's only open select days, you'll swing by that one too, about ten minutes away. On summer select days, food trucks and live music are on site, which shifts the whole feel of the afternoon. The guide is there the whole time, steering the route and the timing, so you're not navigating on your own.
The four-hour window is tight enough that it works as a half-day slot in a bigger trip, but long enough to feel like you've actually ridden and tasted, not just stopped by. Bring a designated driver from your party (someone who will not drink), because the rule is firm and it's the only way this works safely.
What’s included
- Helmets and goggles for each passenger.
- bottled water.
- all fees and taxes.
- a live English-speaking guide for the full four hours.

Is this one for you?The ride starts from a local meeting point and you drive your own side-by-side, so you don't need a car to get there or navigate the back roads yourself. The guide handles the route and timing, which works well for groups staying in town or visiting without a rental.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (6 to 17 years). Children under 6 can't be included in the booking.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
Can I ride in a side-by-side if I've never driven one before?
Yes. One person in your group drives the vehicle, and the other passengers ride along. The driver needs to be at least 18 with a valid driver's license, but no prior SXS experience is required. The guide leads the route and the pace.
What happens if Keg Springs Winery is closed when we go?
Keg Springs is only open on select days and times, so it's not guaranteed. Amber Falls Winery is the main stop every trip. If Keg Springs is open and time allows, the guide will take the group there. If not, you'll spend more time at Amber Falls tasting their full selection.
What should I bring or wear for a four-hour side-by-side ride?
Wear clothes you don't mind getting dusty from the dirt roads. Closed-toe shoes are smart. Helmets and goggles are provided. Bottled water is included. Sunscreen and sunglasses help on a long afternoon outside, and you'll want to designate your driver before you arrive so that person avoids alcohol at the wineries.
Is this ride rough on the body, or is it smooth?
The route uses middle Tennessee back country dirt roads, so it's an outdoor adventure with some terrain. The experience is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health. It's suitable for all other fitness levels, and families ride it regularly.
