The experience

Cowboy is not a tour bus. It's a jacked-up monster truck that rolls through Nashville's streets with live commentary from a local driver who knows the city. The truck itself carries the story. It was once owned by John Rich of Big & Rich, the band behind "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy," and that history rides with you. You'll pass Music Row, where record labels, radio stations and recording studios cluster at the heart of Nashville's country music industry, then move through Downtown Nashville hitting Broadway, the Country Music Hall of Fame, Nissan Stadium, Printers Alley, BiCentennial State Park and Marathon Village. The 90-minute route is fixed, but the ride itself (elevated, loud, unmissable on the street) is nothing like a standard city tour.

The truck holds a small group, and a minimum of 4 people per booking is required. Children from age 1 can ride, though they must be accompanied by an adult. Infants and small children can travel in a pram or stroller if needed. The tour operates in all weather, so dress for the conditions. Service animals are allowed on board. Live commentary runs throughout, so you get context for the stops and the neighborhoods as they pass. All state and local taxes are included in the ticket price, along with a 24-hour trip insurance fee of $6.99 per person.

Eight departure times run throughout the day and evening: 9:00 AM, 9:15 AM, 10:45 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:15 PM, 4:00 PM on weekends, 6:00 PM and 7:45 PM. Pick the window that fits your schedule. Public transportation options are available near the meeting location if you need them to get there.
