Step-by-step itinerary
Paso Robles 3-winery tour with lunch
- Visit first picturesque winery
- Enjoy gourmet deli-style picnic lunch
- Visit family-owned boutique winery
- Visit larger established winery
The experience
Five hours covers three carefully chosen wineries, each one different in character. You start at a picturesque stop (places like Thacher Winery or Shale Oak), where you'll taste and eat lunch with vineyard views. The second stop is a smaller, family-owned operation: Steinbeck Vineyards, Whalebone Vineyard, J Dusi Wines or a similar hidden gem where you can talk directly with the winemakers and find wines you won't see everywhere else. The third is one of the region's larger, established estates (Jada Vineyard, Eberle Winery, Tobin James Cellars or another known name), where you see how the bigger operations blend tradition with modern technique.
Grapeline handles all the winery reservations, so you don't call ahead or wonder if there's space. You ride in a deluxe touring vehicle with a driver who knows the route and the wineries, and who keeps the day moving smoothly. The picnic lunch (a boxed deli-style meal with seven options to choose from) arrives at one of the winery stops, so you eat where you're already tasting. Bottled water comes with it. Pickup and drop-off happen at your Paso Robles or Atascadero hotel, so you don't arrange transport to the starting point.
Tasting fees are not included and are paid directly at each winery as you go. Many wineries offer full or partial refunds if you buy a bottle or join their club. Gratuities are separate from the tour price.
