The experience

Three hours on the water starts with a cruise through Destin Harbor on one of the Original Tiki Bar Boats. The vessel is known around town for the photos people take from it. Your USCG-licensed captain navigates the emerald-green water and points out the area's natural features as you head toward the secluded beach. The boat holds up to six passengers, so you're in a small group, and the ride itself is part of the experience: the waves, the harbor views, and the energy of the water.

Once anchored at the beach, the captain drops the swim ladder and you step into white sand. The cooler, ice, cups, bottle opener, and bottled water are all on board. Floats are provided, and there's an electric pump if you bring your own. Bring whatever beverages and snacks you want (glass bottles are fine), and spend the afternoon swimming, floating, playing games, or simply sitting on the sand. The boat stays anchored while you're there, so you set the pace of the beach time.

The return cruise takes you back through Destin Harbor the same way you came. No alcohol is served or sold on the boat, and it's illegal to bring it to Crab Island, but you're welcome to bring your own beverages as long as they're not purchased there. The whole outing is built around bringing what you want and enjoying it on the water and sand.
