The snorkel happens at a remote reef near Norman Island, the uninhabited island where Blackbeard once anchored. The water is clear enough to see the bottom without effort, and if you'd rather float than dive, that works too. After the reef, the boat heads back to clear U.S. customs—this is an international crossing, so the return includes a stop at the customs office in St. John or St. Thomas, depending on where you started.
