The experience
The day starts with hotel pickup in Dubai and a drive through Sharjah and Fujairah to reach Dibba port on the extreme northern tip of Oman's Musandam Peninsula. Once aboard the traditional dhow, the boat sails into fjords surrounded by rugged Hajar Mountains and crystal-clear water. The snorkeling happens in these pristine waters where you can spot marine life. Snorkel gear is provided and you enter the water at your own pace. Between water activities, the crew serves Arabic tea, coffee, water and seasonal fruits on deck.
The itinerary includes swimming and snorkeling stops, a banana boat ride for those who want the speed and splash, and time to simply float and watch the landscape. A buffet lunch of Arabic and Asian dishes is served on board, along with unlimited refreshments. After the meal, you have the option to snorkel again or relax on deck before the return journey to Dibba port and the drive back to your Dubai hotel.
The route passes through two emirates and crosses into Oman, so your passport must be valid for at least six months. A UAE exit fee of AED 31 per person is payable in cash at the border. Oman visa fees may apply depending on your nationality. The group stays small enough that a dedicated staff member is assigned to guest relations throughout the day.
