You drive east from Ras Al Khaimah toward the range, then move on foot through anything from unique rock formations and contrasting colored water pools to historical traces dating back to the bronze age. The route threads through beautiful farms scattered with date palms, lemon, orange, mango and pomegranate trees, so the landscape shifts from bare rock to cultivated valley and back.

The hike itself is built around your fitness level: recreational trails run alongside more challenging boulder sections, so you choose the intensity as the day unfolds. A qualified guide leads throughout, trained in wilderness first aid and current with industry standards. All technical gear you need is provided, and the guide's job is attentiveness as much as navigation. They know the mountains as a living place, not just a route.

Six hours on the trail leaves the rest of your day open if you're based in Ras Al Khaimah. If you're traveling from Dubai, transport can be arranged for an additional 90 AED. Bring water and snacks of your own, as these are not included.
