The experience

The tour starts with private pickup from wherever you're staying in Dubai (hotel, residence, port or airport) in a luxury 4x4 SUV with your own driver and guide. You head straight to Lahbab Red Dunes, where the real desert begins. A short camel ride comes first, then a 40-minute dune bashing session across the towering red dunes, the vehicle cresting and dropping as the landscape rolls beneath you. After the dunes settle down, you try sandboarding on the soft slopes, and the driver takes you to a quiet spot to photograph the sunset before the light goes.

Once darkness falls, you move to the Premium Desert Camp. The evening opens with Arabic coffee and dates, then you have time to move through the camp's cultural activities at your own pace: another camel ride if you want it, henna painting, photos in traditional Arabic dress, or a shisha corner where you can sit and watch the desert go quiet around the camp lights.
