The Experience
The day starts with a pickup from your hotel at 9am in an air-conditioned vehicle. You'll stop at Jumeirah Beach for photos, then visit Jumeirah Mosque—the most photographed mosque in Dubai—and an Islamic Art Gallery to see traditional artifacts and cultural goods. The real shift comes when you board an authentic abra, a wooden boat that crosses Dubai Creek while the cityscape rises around you. On the far side lies Deira, where the Gold Souk and Spice Souk sprawl across narrow lanes; you can browse intricate gold jewelry or sample exotic spices in the marketplace itself.
After the souks, you move through Souk Madinat Jumeirah, an evening marketplace overlooking the Arabian water, then head to Palm Jumeirah. The monorail ride runs along the trunk of the man-made island from the Gateway station to the Atlantis hotel at the far end, giving you a vantage point to see the island's scale and shape. The route then passes Marina Walk—an open waterfront with restaurants, cafes and boutiques—and Jumeirah Lake Towers before arriving at Dubai Mall around midday.
Dubai Mall is the world's largest shopping destination, with over 1,200 retail stores, two major department stores and hundreds of food and beverage outlets spread across more than one million square meters. You get approximately two hours and fifteen minutes here to explore, eat lunch at one of the many restaurants and cafes, or shop. After this free time, the tour ends with a drop-off back at your hotel.
