The experience

The safari starts with dune bashing in a private vehicle (a Toyota Land Cruiser, Sequoia or Nissan Patrol), where the driver navigates the desert's rolling dunes while you sit in air-conditioned comfort. After the drive comes a short camel ride across the sand, then sand boarding if you want to try it. Back at the camp, a henna artist applies traditional tattoos while you settle in, and the evening builds toward the performances: belly dance, the spinning Tanura show, fire dancing and live Arabic music set to modern rhythms.

Dinner is a self-service buffet with a starter course, BBQ grilled meats and vegetarian dishes, all served at your private seating area. Shisha (hookah) is available throughout the evening, paired with unlimited water, soft drinks, tea and coffee. The performances run while you eat, so the two fold into each other rather than stopping and starting.

A live guide in your chosen language (English, Hindi, Arabic or Bengali) stays with the group, and hotel pickup is arranged before you arrive. The whole experience runs about 6 hours from pickup to return. Separate washrooms for men and women are on site, and the setup works for families with infants (who can ride in a stroller or sit on an adult's lap) as well as for adults of any fitness level.
