The experience

The day starts with a 4x4 pickup from your hotel in a premium Land Cruiser or Nissan Patrol, driven by a professional desert guide. You head straight into the dunes for dune bashing: the vehicle tackles the slopes while you watch the landscape roll past the windows. A sunset photo stop breaks up the drive, and then comes sandboarding on the golden slopes before the light fades completely.

Once the sun is down, the camp comes alive. You'll ride a camel for a short stretch, pose for photos in traditional Arabic dress, and be greeted with Arabic coffee, dates and sweets. The seating overlooks a lake, lit softly as darkness settles. Dinner is a gourmet BBQ with both Arabic and international dishes served buffet-style, and the entertainment runs through the meal: belly dancers, Tanoura spinning, and fire performers take turns on stage. If you want to linger, a shisha corner sits nearby with flavored tobacco and soft drinks on tap.
