You're picked up from your hotel early morning and driven to Adrasan harbor, where a boat takes you to three Mediterranean bays: Suluada Island with its famous Love Cave, Akseki Bay with its own cold-water cave, and Pirate Bay. You swim at each stop, eat lunch on the boat, and watch for sea turtles and dolphins along the rocky coastline. The boat returns you to the harbor by evening, and your transfer brings you back to your hotel.
"Is the water really that cold in the Love Cave?" someone always asks on the drive down to Adrasan. The answer is yes — cold enough that you'll gasp when you first swim in, but that's the whole point. The boat trip to Suluada Island starts early, with hotel pickup between 6:30 and 7:00 in the morning, then a three-hour drive to the harbor where the boat waits. You're heading out into the Turkish Riviera, past high cliffs and caves carved into limestone, and if you're lucky the dolphins and sea turtles will show up before you even reach the first island.
Suluada Island is where the day really opens up. The boat anchors in one of three beaches, and you get time to swim in the clear water, sunbathe on the rocks, and wade into the Love Cave — the one with the local myth attached to it, about a girl's tears turning the water cold. It sounds like a story someone made up for tourists, but standing in that cave with the water so cold it makes your chest tight, you stop caring whether it's true. After that comes lunch on the boat, the kind of meal that tastes better when you're wet and hungry and the Mediterranean is right there. Then you move on to Akseki Bay, also called Love Island, another unvisited-feeling spot with its own cave and its own cold water, and then to Pirate Bay — the old pirate settlement — where the water is supposedly the cleanest of the three.
The boat follows the coastline the whole way, so you're seeing the Lycian Way from the water, forests and rocky cliffs the entire trip. It's not a rushed thing — there's time to actually swim, not just dip and move on. The guide is with you, and the whole day is structured so you're back at the port by evening and your transfer bus takes you straight back to your hotel. No arranging boats, no figuring out timing, no negotiating with fishermen at the dock.
