A professional English-speaking guide leads the walking tour in an air-conditioned vehicle, with hotel pickup included. Museums closed on tour days are replaced with similar alternatives.

The experience
The Blue Mosque opens the day: a six-minaret Ottoman structure with a vast main chamber decorated in classical style. From there you move to Hagia Sophia, built in the 6th century by Emperor Justinian and later converted to a mosque after the Ottoman conquest. The Byzantine mosaics reward lingering. Topkapi Palace, the largest and oldest palace in the world, sits next with views across the Golden Horn and access to the imperial treasury. The Grand Bazaar closes the loop, operating since the 14th century with 58 streets and over 4,000 shops specializing in jewelry, leather, pottery, spices and carpets.
The tour also includes the Hagia Irene, the oldest church of the Eastern Roman Empire in the outer courtyard of Topkapi, the Byzantine Hippodrome, the Obelisk of Theodosius (originally erected for an Egyptian pharaoh and moved to Constantinople), and the German Fountain, built in Germany and reassembled in Istanbul. Walking is substantial across all sites, and the pace is set by the guide's commentary rather than by lingering time at each stop. If a museum is closed on your departure day, the operator substitutes a similar alternative so the itinerary holds.
Pickup is included from your hotel or cruise port, and transport between sites is in an air-conditioned vehicle. The eight-hour commitment runs from morning through early afternoon, timed to return you before evening. Food and drinks are not included, though the Grand Bazaar offers plenty of options to eat or browse. The guide speaks English throughout and can answer questions about what you're seeing, but this is a walking tour with a guide, not a private or customized experience.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (5 to 11 years); Infant (under 5).
What is the Blue Mosque and why does it matter in Istanbul?
The Blue Mosque, or Sultan Ahmet Mosque, is one of the most famous monuments in the Turkish and Islamic worlds. It's built in classical Ottoman style with six towering minarets, 260 windows that flood the main chamber with light, and more than 20,000 Iznik tiles decorating the interior: making it a superb example of Ottoman architecture from its era.
Can I visit Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace on the same day?
Yes, both are included on this tour. Hagia Sophia, built in the 6th century and now a museum, sits near Topkapi Palace, which overlooks the Golden Horn. The guide takes you through both in sequence, though Hagia Sophia closes on Mondays and Topkapi closes on Tuesdays. If your tour falls on those days, a similar museum is substituted instead.
How much time do I spend at the Grand Bazaar?
The Grand Bazaar is the final stop on the tour. It's one of the world's largest covered markets with 58 streets and over 4,000 shops, so you have time to walk through and shop for jewelry, leather, pottery, spices or carpets. If the bazaar is closed on your tour date, additional time is spent at the other locations instead.
Is this tour walkable for someone with limited mobility?
This tour involves substantial walking across multiple historic sites and is not recommended for travelers with walking difficulties or poor cardiovascular health. You should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness to comfortably complete the itinerary.
What's included in the tour price?
The tour includes the walking tour itself, a professional English-speaking guide, air-conditioned transport between sites, and hotel or cruise port pickup. Museum entry fees depend on which purchase option you select. The "No Entrance" option includes only the guide and transport, while other options add museum admissions. Food, drinks and gratuities are not included.
