The experience

The boat leaves Oludeniz harbor early and heads straight to the Blue Cave, where the water shifts through shades of green and blue as the light hits the rocks. This is the first swimming stop, and the crew gives you time to wade in and float. From there the boat sails to Butterfly Valley, a steep ravine that opens onto the water and fills with butterfly species in the warmer months. You swim here and can wade ashore to walk the narrow beach if the water appeals to you more than the land.

The day turns at Camel Beach, where the water runs warm and shallow and real camels stand on the sand. Lunch happens here: fish or chicken, pasta and salad, served on the boat or on the beach. If you want to ride a camel, the crew arranges it. If not, you swim or wade or sit with a plate. After lunch the boat heads to Soguksu Bay, where cold water flows down through rocks and meets the warmer sea. This is the fourth and final swimming stop, a sharp contrast to Camel Beach that some travelers come for and others skip by staying on deck.
