The experience

The boat leaves with a live English-speaking guide and heads first to the Blue Cave for a brief photo stop. The site is a diving spot and narrow, so you get five to ten minutes there. Then comes Butterfly Valley, where you have roughly 45 minutes to an hour to go ashore, swim, and walk through the valley itself. The water is clear enough to snorkel, and the natural setting is the draw. You move at your own pace instead of being herded through.

Gemiler Island (also called St. Nicholas Island) comes next, with old churches on top and a sunken ancient city beneath the water. Entry to explore the ruins costs about 3 euros per person and is optional. You can stay on the boat or swim around the island for free instead. After that, the boat anchors at Aquarium Bay, famous for water so transparent it looks like glass. This is where the chef serves lunch: a homemade open buffet of Turkish mezze, pasta, fresh daily fish and marinated chicken, all prepared on the captain's barbecue. You swim here for roughly an hour after eating.

The final two stops are Cold Water Spring Bay, where a natural spring feeds a pool of ice-cold water (around 5°C) flowing from the rocks, and Camel Beach, a pristine bay in Ölüdeniz where you can swim or explore the shoreline for about 30 minutes. Snorkeling equipment is included throughout, and the whole day is designed to feel unhurried.
