The experience
The day starts with a bus ride from your hotel through pine forests and local villages to the rafting starting point: roughly 40 kilometers away and taking about an hour and fifteen minutes. At the Kano outdoor base, you'll sign insurance and waiver forms, eat an open buffet breakfast, and get fitted with a safety vest, helmet and equipment sized to you. A guide will walk through a detailed health and safety briefing in English, German or Russian, then teach you how to handle the boat and what to expect on the river.
The rafting itself covers 14 kilometers of the Dalaman River in an untouched valley. You'll paddle in groups of roughly eight people, one guide per group, moving through rapids and calmer stretches for about three hours. The guides stay with you the whole way, and safety is held at the highest level throughout. After you finish, you'll be transferred back to the base station, where showers and changing rooms are available.
A late afternoon buffet lunch waits at the base, and you'll watch a video of the day's moments with the other people in your group before heading back to your hotel. All rafting guests are insured by Group Allianz, and the equipment meets or exceeds international quality standards. Independent photographers capture photos and videos during the day. You can buy copies on CD if you want them.
