The experience

The balloon flight happens first, before breakfast. You'll spend a minimum of one hour in the air watching the landscape of stone formations and carved valleys open below you as the sun rises. After landing, you have free time back at your hotel to rest and eat before the guided portion begins.

The ground tour takes you through Red Valley and Rose Valley, where the rock faces shift color through the day. You'll visit Çavuşin Village to see how people have lived in and carved from the stone, then descend into Kaymakli Underground City: a multi-level settlement carved entirely beneath the surface, with rooms, passages and ventilation shafts that date back centuries. The tour ends with panoramic views from Pigeon Valley and Ortahisar, where you can see the full span of the region's geology and settlement patterns.

Hotel pickup and drop-off are included for hotels in the main towns. Lunch is provided during the day. If weather prevents the balloon flight in Cappadocia, the operator will arrange it in Pamukkale instead, so you still get the flight time promised.
