The Experience

The pickup happens at 7am from your Phuket hotel—Patong, Kata, Karon or the northern beaches—and the drive to the adventure camp in Phang Nga's jungle takes about 90 minutes. Your guide briefs you on the route and hands you a snack bag before you arrive. Once at the camp, you get fitted with safety gear and learn white water rafting technique before you're on the water.

The 5km white water rafting section comes first, then you refuel with Thai buffet lunch at a riverside restaurant. After eating, you move to the zipline: one 150-meter flight through the rainforest canopy gives you a view of the landscape most visitors never see. A jungle trek follows, leading to a waterfall where you can swim and cool off. The ATV ride lasts 25 to 30 minutes and winds through the jungle trails.

Before heading back to Phuket, the tour stops at Wat Suwan Kuha, the Monkey Cave Temple, where you see the reclining Buddha statue and watch the monkeys that live there. The return drive gets you back to your hotel between 4pm and 6pm. The whole day runs about 10 hours door to door, and you're moving between activities the whole time—there's no long sitting around.
