The experience
You operate the paddle and the board or kayak yourself, moving at your own pace down the Kwai Yai River. The route covers 5.5 km, passing under the Bridge on the River Kwai: the landmark most visitors see from the shore or a tour bus. Here you approach it from the water, gliding underneath and seeing it from an angle that changes how it looks. An experienced staff member paddles alongside, teaching you the basics before you start and staying with you throughout.
Equipment is provided: either a stand-up paddleboard or a kayak, whichever you choose at checkout. The staff handles safety and instruction. You handle the paddle. Complimentary photos are taken during the session so you have images of yourself on the water with the bridge behind you. Drinking water is included. Hotel pickup comes with the booking if you're staying within 2 kilometers of the meeting point. Otherwise, public transportation options are available nearby.
Morning and afternoon sessions run daily, so you can fit the paddle around the rest of your day. The experience suits all fitness levels and welcomes children from age 5, though infants must sit on an adult's lap. The whole outing takes about three hours from start to finish.
