The experience
After you disembark at Laem Chabang Port, your guide meets you and walks through a list of Bangkok's main attractions: the Temple of the Golden Buddha (a 5.5-tonne gold statue), the Temple of the Dawn, the Marble Temple, the Jim Thompson House Museum, Baiyoke Sky Tower with its observation deck and restaurants, Siam Paragon shopping mall, the Pak Klong Talad Flower Market (open 24 hours, one of Southeast Asia's largest), and access to the Chao Phraya River. You tell your guide which ones interest you, and they help you fit the most rewarding combination into the time you have.
The tour runs eight hours total. About 2.5 hours of that is the round trip between the port and Bangkok. The rest is yours to spend at the attractions you chose. You travel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle with your guide, who navigates the city and explains what you're seeing. There's no fixed route or schedule: only the stops you want and the pace that suits you.
Pickup and drop-off happen at the port. Bring a hat and an umbrella for sun protection, and carry a water bottle (one is provided). Food, drinks and museum entrance fees are separate. The Jim Thompson House Museum ticket, for instance, is not included.
